With spring on the way and the new collections in the shops, here’s my seasonal look at new trends, interpretations for the dancefloor and my favourite tango-ready pieces.
Knots and bows
I like a little knot or bow to elevate an otherwise simple garment. My favourite trick for tango is to tie a loose top in the small of your back. On the high street look for small knots on the front that give a nice drape, a bow on the shoulder or a wrap-around tie. Pair with jeans or silky wide leg trousers.
Wear with M45 black by Turquoise.
I know velvet in the warmer months seems mad for a hot milonga but this season it is lightweight and colourful. Look out for blush pinks and bright mustard yellows. Ruched detail shows off the beautiful shimmer of the fabric.
Wear with Sirena champagne and khaki by Mr Tango Shoes.
Last season’s ruffles continue, diffused to the high street as waterfall trims on midi skirts and tailored dresses.

Very wearable for tango, look out for blocks of colour on the side of skirts and dresses.

The rust reds of winter have given way to another round of pink, this time in bright hot hues. Pair with tonal or clashing bright shoes for extra style points.
